Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Tracked is built so that your data never leaves your devices. There is no account, we operate no servers, and we never receive a copy of your data. The App Store privacy label for Tracked is “Data Not Collected.”

1. Information We Collect

Tracked collects minimal information necessary to provide our time tracking service:

  • Time entries, projects, tasks, and tags you create within the App
  • App settings and preferences
  • Subscription status (managed by Apple)

All of this stays on your device (and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your personal iCloud account). None of it is transmitted to us.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to provide the time tracking functionality of the App. We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Storage

All time tracking data is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database, protected by your device's built-in storage protections (such as Data Protection on iOS and FileVault on macOS, where enabled). If you enable iCloud sync, your data is also stored in your personal iCloud account, subject to Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy. We operate no servers and never receive a copy of your data.

iCloud sync is entirely opt-in. Tracked works fully offline without it, and we have no access to your iCloud data.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties. Export features (CSV, JSON, PDF) are initiated solely by you and data is shared only with recipients you choose.

The same applies to Tracked's automation interfaces (Shortcuts, AppleScript, the URL scheme, and the built-in MCP server): they run locally on your device, are only active when you invoke them, and only expose data to tools you connect yourself.

5. Analytics

We do not use third-party analytics services. We do not track your usage patterns or collect telemetry data. The App contains no advertising or tracking SDKs.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data Retention

Your data remains on your device for as long as the App is installed. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data. iCloud data can be managed through your iCloud account settings.

8. Security

Your data never leaves your device except through iCloud sync (if enabled) and exports you initiate yourself. iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to access, export, and delete all your data at any time through the App's settings. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for you to request from us — you are always in direct control.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
